THE CHAPTER IN POINTS

Chapter 2 The man on the plane
THE CHAPTER IN POINTS
• As there is no direct flight to Lima, the capital of Peru, from Cairo Leila had to fly to New York and then change planes.

Chapter 3 The flight to Cuzco
THE CHAPTER IN POINTS CH 3
• Leila and Dr Hafez took the plane from Lima to Cuzco.
• Dr Hafez read through the papers that Leila had brought with her and made sure that they were working along the right lines.
• Leila asked Dr Hafez about the excavations and how they were going.
• Dr Hafez told her that they were digging at a site near Quenco which is three hours by car from Cuzco where there was once a great city there.
• Dr Hafez told Leila that everyone knew about Machu Picchu, the great Inca city that was lost for hundreds of years.
• They believed that there were other Inca cities of the people they conquered, some
of them hadn't been discovered at that time.
• Dr Hafez told Leila that two days before they had found a wall in the city and he
thought it might be a wall of a tomb and they were going to break through into the
tomb that week.
• It could be a tomb of a king because there were some marks on the wall and there
was also a picture of a llama. That's a sign that the tomb might be royal.

• The Incas and the Ancient Egyptians put gold and silver objects beside the bodies of
their kings.
